Brian Francis is the U.S. Manager for Commercial & Manufacturing Insurance, Limited (CMI). CMI is a Class 2 Bermudian liability insurer domiciled in Hamilton, Bermuda. In his capacity as U.S. manager Brian is charged with underwriting, reinsurance and management of insurance operations.  He also is a partner and officer in the firms of Maxcis, Incorporated, and Property & Casualty Solutions, LLC. Maxcis specializes in the administration of worker’s compensation claims, Property & Casualty Solutions specializes in property and casualty claims, underwriting and loss control.

 

Mr. Francis also is an insurance and risk management professional whose field of expertise is established in the disciplines of underwriting, claims and loss control management. He holds the Associate in Risk Management designation. For several years Brian Francis has served as a consultant to major insurance and reinsurance companies, law firms, hospitals and industrial corporations.

 

The State of Michigan, Bureau of Worker’s Disability Compensation has recognized and approved Mr. Francis for providing claim reserve sufficiency audits. These studies are required by the Bureau and performed annually on all group self-insured programs. Brian has also been approved by the State to perform in the capacity of insurance underwriting. He maintains Insurance Producer and Insurance Adjuster licensure.

 

As a litigation consultant he specializes in matters of insurance industry customs, practice, procedure and insurance policy interpretation. He has also works in the capacity as a reinsurance auditor.

Brian is an instructor at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan. He teaches Insurance Underwriting & Marketing and Insurance Portfolio Management in the University’s Insurance Studies section.

 

Mr. Francis is also a faculty member at the Financial Services Institute in Livonia, Michigan where he instructs Property & Casualty insurance programs. He has developed educational programs that address the subjects of Insurance Policy Analysis, Worker’s Compensation, the Duties and Responsibilities of Insurance Agents & Brokers, Umbrella and Excess Insurance Policies, Risk Financing, Employment Practices Liability Insurance and Evaluating the Financial Integrity of Insurance Companies. These programs have been recognized and approved by the State of Michigan Insurance Department for insurance agent’s continuing education certification. Mr. Francis also speaks to the international insurance community at the Bermuda Insurance Institute in Hamilton, Bermuda.
